An Akrapovic exhaust is the best upgrade you can buy for your 4-stroke Zip or Vespa Sprint. The system consists of a pipe and a muffler that come as a complete set, specially tuned for the Piaggio 4-stroke engine. You get a deeper, sportier sound, better gas flow, and a look that immediately stands out.
The range at Fresh Parts includes three variants. The 4T2V version fits Zip and Vespa models made between 2005 and 2017, the generation without injection. The Euro 4 iGet version fits the Zip and Sprint from 2018 through 2020. The Euro 5 iGet version is for all models from 2021 onwards. The sets are not interchangeable, so the year and engine type determine which one you need.
Besides the complete sets, you’ll also find individual parts. The front pipe with mounting bracket is sold separately. This pipe has no plug, so exhaust gases flow more freely and your 80cc setup works optimally. You can also remove the plug from your 50cc pipe yourself. Which engine type?
Unsure which variant fits your scooter? The year of your Zip or Vespa determines the engine type. Up to 2017 it’s always a 2-valve engine without iGet. From 2018, it’s the 3-valve iGet engine, Euro 4 first, and Euro 5 from 2021 on. If you have an 80cc cylinder installed, you also look for the front pipe for 80cc setups. The complete Akrapovic sets come with an exhaust pipe and mounting bracket. You don’t need a separate pipe. Only the separate Akrapovic muffler is sold without the pipe and is meant as a replacement muzzle.
What is the difference between the Euro 4 and Euro 5 Akrapovic exhausts?
Both are developed for Piaggio’s iGet 3-valve engine but are not interchangeable. The Euro 4 version fits iGet engines from 2018 through 2020; the Euro 5 version fits engines from 2021 onwards. The difference lies in the mounting and exhaust geometry, which vary per emission standard.
Does an Akrapovic exhaust also fit a 2-stroke Zip?
No. The Akrapovic range is only suitable for 4-stroke Piaggio and Vespa models. For a 2-stroke Zip, you can choose from the Sito Plus, Yasuni, or Leovince 2-stroke exhaust collections.
